My mother in law didn't think so though.I tore out the soles and put them back in and the squeak was quieter & much better!These are not shoes you would want to put on your kid if you are going somewhere quiet, that's for sure.Everyone looks at him and laughs about his shoes. I just think they are a bit loud, but i'm prone to migraines.i bought these shoes because when my husband deploys i am one mother to 3 kids.these shoes are great when i run places because i can hear exactly where my son is (like at the post office) love that they come in wide sizes.And YES, my son LOVES his squeaky shoes! he begs me to put them on and dances around in them just to hear them squeak!
