(More customer reviews)I have been doing some home fitness things here and there and then decided to start running. So, went to the store and got myself a Nike Torch 4. The fot was good, but the first few days were painful so I started researching if it was me or the shoe. Turned out it was both. I found out that I am an moderate over-pronator (those who don't know this, check internet before starting running), and the shoe is the wrong one. So, to save the shoe I had already, I bought a Dr.Scholls sports sole and tried it, but the pains were there when running. So, again researched and bought the Spenco total support sole, which felt a litle better but I still had pains while running.
So, again I went to 15 different stores (specialty ones like footlocker, champs etc) and tried all shoes for over-pronation, one by one, all brands, Nike, Ascis, Brooks, New Balance etc. Some felt a little better than others but did not get the "yeah" feeling. Then went to a bigger mall with all the showrooms, and found Adidas. I wanted to try Addidas before but the stores did not have my size (7.5 - 8). As soon as I had tried response stability, I had the "yeah" factor. These were comfortable and gave a relaxed feeling to the feet and ankle. First I tried 7.5 which was exact fit, but then chose 8 as for running its recommended to take 1/2 size bigger. I tried the Supernova too, and they were feeling good too, but I chose to give response a try and thought if these don't work out I will give supernova a try.
First day in running and I felt the difference. The muscles, and the ankle were relaxed. The stability and cushioning were excellent and the shape for my foot was excellent. I ran about 4-5 miles and felt nothing,. no pains. Now after a week, I am very happy to write this as I though I would not be able to run, and only have to be confined to home fitness. Turned out it was the shoe and Response is working out well for me. I would like to try Supernova too sometime as it is a higher end line from Adidas, and should be more comfortable (Adidas website rates it higher in cushioning and stability), but right now I am quite satisfied. I will trythe Spence sole to see the difference and update this again.
I have thrown all pair of shoes (except dress ones), because these are so comfortable in daily wear too and don't tire you when you go out for hours of walking/shopping in the malls. Before I used to get tired after 1-2 hours of walking and didn't know why, now I know.
For everyone who wants to run, or over-pronates, try this one before anything, you won't need anything else.
Happy running.
