I now run about 15-20 miles a week, and the shoes have suited me pretty well so far. The problem is, I purchased them in July and had no trouble with them through the fall months, but now that it's gotten into december I've realized that the whole ClimaCool thing is not such a cool innovation when it's 20 degrees F outside and icy or 45 and raining. The mesh is even on the bottom of the shoes, so if you hop into a puddle or into a pile of snow, good luck trying to run on frozen or soaked feet. As for the padding and shock absorption, I feel the shoe has sacrificed these features to make great patches of mesh in the bottom of the shoe. It is still pretty bouncy in the heel, but I try to keep a midfoot-to-forefoot gait pattern, and the shoe just does not have enough arch support or forefoot support to keep my feet happy. Sometimes they get sore late in the run, and for the past few weeks I've had some ankle and arch soreness in my left foot from underpronating a bit in these shoes. I'm thinking I'm going to get a more expensive, better supporting (and waterproof) pair to get through winter). But if you're looking for a cheap pair of pretty good running shoes to get you through hot summer runs or the safety of your gym, these aren't terrible.
